Taking place in November and December, the festive programme celebrates creativity in all its forms, from the written word and traditional printmaking to a rather more unconventional duck-shaped take on Christmas crafting!
Kicking off the series on Saturday 21st November, The Workbench are bringing their brand of exquisite jewellery making to Hotel Indigo London Clerkenwell in a nod to the area’s rich history of jewellery makers and goldsmiths. This workshop will introduce guests to the art of wax casting, an age-old jewellery-making technique. With no previous experience required, participants will learn how to shape and carve jewellers' wax to create a completely individual ring, with all tools, materials and expert guidance provided. Once the carving is complete, the designs will be taken to The Workbench's London workshop, where skilled jewellers will cast, hand-finish and polish each creation in 100% recycled silver. The finished rings will be returned to their makers just before Christmas! Tickets include the two-hour workshop, tools and materials, expert tuition and a finished ring cast in 100% recycled silver.
For those who prefer to get hands-on with ink and paper, the hotel's festive programme also includes a Christmas lino printing workshop
lead by Erin Harrison on Saturday 5 December, 2-5pm, offering the chance to explore the art of printmaking and create something original to take home. A lovely alternative to shop-bought decorations and gifts, the workshop invites guests to discover their creative side while making something personal for the festive season.
Bringing a little sparkle to the programme, Saturday 12 December sees the arrival of Does It Disco? A Disco Duck-making Workshop. Led by Nico Ginestet, the disco genius behind Disco Heads, this four-hour creative session will see participants transform an ordinary duck into a dazzling, mirror-ball-inspired creation! With all tools and equipment provided, guests can expect plenty of glitter and retro glamour as they make their very own disco duck to take home. No crafting experience is needed, just a willingness to embrace your inner disco diva!
Set in the heart of Clerkenwell, Hotel Indigo London Clerkenwell is perfectly placed for those looking to discover something different this Christmas. With its neighbourhood-inspired interiors, the hotel is home to Wilderness Kitchen, Sabini Bar and the historic Hat & Feathers pub, making it an inviting destination to combine a creative afternoon or evening with seasonal food and drinks, including their £5 Pints every pay day!
This Christmas enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of festive shopping and create something truly unique and personal. Merry Crafting!
