The 2017 Spring Makers Craft Fair will be taking place at Bedruthan Hotel in Mawgan Porth, on Cornwall’s dramatic north coast, over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of April.
Renowned for its consistently high standard of exhibitors, Bedruthan’s Spring Makers Craft Fair has an immersive, interactive focus; with the eclectic and highly skilled exhibitors performing live demonstrations and offering creative workshops. With a selection of new exhibitors alongside the stalwarts that have set the standard over the years, the event will host over 50 stalls split across three levels of the hotel.
Exhibitors include award winning jewellery designer Joanna Bury, environmentally friendly surfboard workshop Driftwood Surfboards and contemporary Cornish designers including 71 Designs, Soap Designs and Digital Fabrications. Other jewellery designers showcasing at the event include Bethany Robinson, Sarah Drew and Hannah Batstone. Tapping into one of Cornwall’s natural resources, ceramicists (including Modern Craft Workshop , Tania Clarke and Rebecca Harvey) will be showcasing clay and porcelain tableware and gifts in a variety of styles; from traditional Japanese pots from PurMoren Crafts to quirky illustrated vases and hanging baskets by Megan Clarke.
As well as the eclectic mix of exhibitors and demos, the fair will feature a pop-up Tea Room with views over the Atlantic.
Bedruthan’s Spring Makers fair is organised in conjunction with Duchy Fairs, a Cornish company which curates vintage style events across the county.
Tickets cost £3 in advance or £4 on the door on the day, a percentage of the ticket price goes towards local causes including Newquay Lions Club for providing the free shuttle service from Mawgan Porth to the hotel. Visitors will also receive a free programme for the event including all the stallholders and their contact details.
Bedruthan Hotel & Spa is based only 15 minutes drive from Padstow and ten minutes drive from Newquay Airport and is set in a beautiful cliff top location, with commanding views out to sea. The hotel was built in the 1960s with strong influences being drawn from Scandinavian architecture and design.
