Latitude50 is delighted to introduce this wonderful new escape, Valencia House. This striking Port Isaac retreat lies along a pretty lane in the heart of the village. Three stories of Cornish stone and slate are cocooned by emerald creepers which turn to flame red in autumn months. From the top floor, enjoy far reaching views across whitewashed cottages and crooked chimney pots towards the beach. Early morning risers can meander down the hill to the harbour for a morning dip and on their way back, pop into one of the charming cafes for a fresh coffee.
Valencia House in Port Isaac
Inside Valencia House, thick stone walls enjoy the chalky tones of Farrow and Ball, framed by the modern-day luxuries. Built by a merchant sea captain in the 1800s, there is character and charm around every corner from the endearingly sloped walls and the welcoming window seats to the cast iron bath tub from his ship in the master bedroom. A crackling log burner and an extensive library are on standby for those rainier days and upstairs, a nickel slipper bath tub is calling out to be filled with bubbles.
A glossy red Aga takes centre stage in the traditional kitchen where toasty slate flagstones and a sunny window seat create the perfect ambience for whipping up holiday breakfasts. Open the door to the tiered patio and enjoy your morning coffee al fresco as the palm leaves above sway in the breeze and later guests can soak up the rays from the comfort of the sun loungers. Spend evenings curled up in the cosy lounge which provides the setting for family movies and board game tournaments.
As eyelids grow heavy choose from two floors of blissful bedrooms. Upstairs, the sumptuous master bedroom has dual aspect views across the village to the sea, framed by decorative fronds of ivy blowing in the breeze outside. The spa-like en-suite comes complete with a freestanding bathtub and walk in shower with a porthole window looking skywards. The second bedroom boasts a striking nickel bathtub and the third is finished in the softest tones of blush. Three cosy bedrooms on the lower ground floor include a king-sized bed and two single rooms with views across the garden.
Valencia House is new to the market, sleeping 10 in 6 bedrooms. Dogs welcome. From £2690 per week
